P+S is the official agency partner of Panasonic. We’ve worked with nine of its companies around the world, developing 164 global websites in 24 languages.
Our in-house software development team recommended the upgrade of a colossal Drupal 7 website to Drupal 8 for the Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales Company of America (PIDSA) - the tech giant's North American division - in order to better serve reams of data in a completely flexible way.
Solution
This was Panasonic’s first ‘headless’ Drupal 8 website on an enterprise scale. In addition to making it fully responsive, we organised, streamlined and delivered a monumental amount of real-time data from an eCatalog that was struggling to cope.
The data was fed into an intermediary Product Information Management (PIM) system which was built by P+S and entirely bespoke to Panasonic. The system enables PIDSA users to make changes to the data themselves, giving them more control over how online product information is displayed to customers.
As well as enhanced control, the results mean greater speed, a seamless user experience and a reduction in errors or latency in the back-end system.
A ‘headless’, responsive Drupal 8 website on an enterprise scale. One of the first of its kind.
• Better site search capability, providing faster and more relevant search results • Improved product detail specifications • Improved sales support tools • Achievement of WCAGAA Standard for accessibility • Smoother, faster UX • A responsive site • Enhanced search engine optimisation
What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
