This week at Proctors the creative studio has welcomed a new face, in the form of design intern Anna Bailey-Sayer for a six-week placement.
After graduating with a 2:1 in Graphic Design from Nottingham Trent University and specialising in illustration, photography and typography, Anna started to research agencies for internships and junior design jobs and lucky for us, Proctor + Stevenson were the chosen ones.
Anna says, “Initially I went on Instagram to do a little research, and the layout of the office struck me - as well as the graffiti on the building walls! Also, some of the projects that were posted on the website looked really interesting. I’m hoping to expand my knowledge of marketing communication, but these are the things I picked up on first when searching for agencies.”
Although Anna has temporarily relocated to Bristol from Shrewsbury in Shropshire for this internship, she’s hoping to make the move and live in Bristol permanently.
“I’m hoping to learn new skills including design software and creative processes and be part of a team working on client briefs. Even though I touched base with these at university, it’s a completely different ball game being in a fast-paced design studio environment like Proctor + Stevenson. There’s been so much to get my head around, but everyone has been so welcoming and helpful! I’ve already learnt so much from everyone and I’ve only been here for a week.”
“I’m currently working on a couple of assets for our social media platforms, helping on a design brief for a client’s app and coming up with design ideas for the Student Design Awards here at P+S. I’ve also managed to understand the basics of Adobe XD.”
Alongside her passion for design, Anna loves to socialise over food and a pint, watch live music and generally explore the world.
A girl after our own heart.
