Proctor + Stevenson to sponsor local music and arts festival

May 24, 2018

Proctor + Stevenson are delighted to announce that we will be sponsoring Redfest Bristol 2018.

Redfest Bristol is an independent community art and music festival bringing music, film, cabaret, comedy, animation, graffiti, photography, art and children's events to the communities of Redfield, Easton, St George.

Redfest is run by a group of volunteers from the local community and is entirely reliant on public donations, support and sponsorship from local businesses and grant funding where available.

Founded in 2008 by a small group of volunteers looking to provide a showcase for local artistic talent whilst bringing an increased sense of community to the area.

In its infancy, the festival was a small-scale event lasting a week, and this generated excellent attendance in a number of venues.

In 2011, following feedback from local residents, the week-long festival was successfully expanded to include a day-long event in St. George Park.

Around 20,000 attended Redfest in 2016 prompting a change in venue for 2017 but due to popular demand and feedback, this year’s event will take place back in St. George Park.

The event will take place on Saturday 4 August and Lack Of Afro have been announced as the headline act.

However, the event organisers are looking to boost their amazing team with some fresh and enthusiastic new faces.

The festival will take place on 4 August, but the detailed planning phase (and the hard work) has already kicked off.

We have a number of volunteer positions open right now.

  • Social Media Assistant
  • Community Engagement / Diversity Manager
  • Build / Break Team Leader
  • Fundraising Events Team

Applications for general stewarding and helpers on the day are open too.

Whether you have loads of expertise and want to give something back, or you’re looking to gain experience to boost your CV, or you just might want to give your time to a good cause, volunteering for Redfest gives you the opportunity to make a real difference, have some fun and meet lots of new friends, not to mention the warm fuzzy feeling and buzz of being part of something amazing.

If you or anyone else you know might like to join the Redfest team, please email dom@redfestbristol.co.uk and we’ll send you job specs for the roles you’re interested in.
