Motivation
Motivation strives to be the number one provider of quality appropriate wheelchairs and associated training in the developing world. Their Vision is a world in which disabled people are included and fully participate in all aspects of life.
20 million people around the world are currently in need of a wheelchair. With an ageing population, higher survival rates in areas of conflict, more accidents due to industrialisation, and more natural disasters due to climate change, that demand is set to rise. Rising with it, will be the need for well-designed and well-fitted wheelchairs that can tackle a range of challenging terrains globally.
Motivation’s part in this future forms their Mission: to enhance the quality of life of people with mobility disabilities. They’re doing this, by addressing survival, mobility, empowerment and inclusion - and aiming, by 2014 to be providing 45,000 mobility products per year across the world, and having a positive impact on the quality of life of 62,000 people.
