Cristal makes TiO2 – titanium dioxide – a white substance with a spectrum of applications.
It is the brightest white pigment with the highest opacity of any commercial product, used to bring whiteness and opacity to paints, plastics and paper, amongst other applications, and to improve the durability of coatings and films.
In May 2007, Saudi Arabia-based Cristal purchased the inorganic chemicals division of Millennium Chemicals combining their diverse manufacturing platforms into one unified global producer. The acquisition propelled Cristal Global to be the world's second largest producer of titanium dioxide with manufacturing plants on five continents and locations in Ashtabula, Ohio; Baltimore, Maryland; Salvador, Bahia; Stallingborough, UK; Thann, France; Yanbu, Saudi Arabia; Bunbury, Australia; and Paraiba, Brazil.
Proctor & Stevenson has worked with Cristal for the past seven years, initially appointed to review and rationalise its identity and corporate communications and subsequently to design and deliver all Cristal’s international exhibition stands and advertising, primarily in industry fairs in Europe and its key home market, the Middle East.
