Here’s some Friday inspiration…

November 13, 2015

Don’t they say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery? Now, I wouldn’t go as far as to rip off the ideas on these sites, but it’s always good to look at examples of great marketing to give you inspiration for future projects. So an article on HubSpot caught my eye when it presented several inspiring websites for us all to lean on (note, not copy!). Here are a few of them…

Awwwards

This site is jam-packed full of cases of great web design and standout digital experiences – many of which have won one of their awards for online innovation. There’s some handy filtering to help while you’re browsing – for example, by colour or by category such as “ecommerce” or “design agencies”. There are also plenty of case studies from outside of the UK if you’re looking for international inspiration.

Dribbble

While the name isn’t exactly inspiring, the content is. Described as a “show and tell for designers”, it’s made up of screen shots shared by designers, so is perfect if you’re after examples of awesome graphics, logos, typography and so on.

Pinterest

“What’s this doing on the list?” you ask. Yes, the pin-sharing platform offers more than just a load of inspiration for homemade Christmas decorations and motivational quotes to get you going in the morning. It also opens up a world of infographics, page layouts and more.

Crayon

With 15 million webpages to look through, you won’t be short on ideas to get the creative juices flowing. HubSpot describes it as a “one-stop shop” for web design for a specific sector, CMS, traffic volume or device.

I’d love to know other great sources of inspiration – what are yours?
