Resource Futures

Website redesign and build

To help client organisations operate more sustainably, Resource Futures offers a broad suite of consultancy services: research and evaluation, strategy and planning, communications, project management and resourcing, and evaluation services. Yet with so much to talk about, Resource Futures’ website was getting confusing.

The team contacted Proctors for help refreshing and rationalising the site. They also wanted to add a new content management system (CMS), so keeping the site updated with fresh, relevant content would be easier in future. Finally, Resource Futures’ business plan widened its scope to include different sectors – so the site had to be inclusive, clearly signposted and easy to navigate.

The Proctors response
A new content management system and comprehensive refresh offered plenty of opportunities to set this innovative consultancy apart online.

We focused on two key areas: rationalising user journeys and making the site simple to update.

To help users find what they want, when they want it, sector routing has been introduced to the homepage. Feature blocks offer intuitive shortcuts, and key propositions – such as frequently requested services – are highlighted in feature panels that can easily be updated by the team client-side.

To make updating the site simple for the in-house team, the site is built in Drupal – a user-friendly content management system. This will help Resource Futures change content and messaging to keep the site fresh, SEO optimised and covering all the latest issues.

Other design features to look out for include dynamic case study display function – each page can show case studies relevant to the sector, service and subject chosen by the client.

The results
Though it’s too early to gain meaningful metrics on the new sites’ comparative performance, Kate at Resource Futures was happy to summarise the experience:

“Proctors provided invaluable support in deciding the direction of our new website. From strategic support analysing our customer base through to recommendations on signposting and segmentation, the team offered expert opinions, and together we’ve created a site that’s working well."
