Panasonic sector films

We were running a major European for Panasonic Toughbooks – the world's leading 'rugged' laptops. But how could we best convey Panasonic's vast cross-sector knowledge in as concise and engaging a format possible? Time to get the cameras running...


We had devised a multi-national direct response campaign for Panasonic. But we soon realised that the Toughbook sector specialists possessed such vast knowledge of their respective industries that we could never hope to capture their persuasive arguments in the form of print or email alone. So what media could we turn to?

The Proctors response
Instead, we decided to create no fewer than 17 online films, each relevant to a specific industry sector, to be subtitled in numerous European languages.

Taking on the challenge of carrying out all scripting, direction, filming, editing and production ourselves, we embarked on a programme of 'green screen' film making, allowing us to interview the relevant sector specialist and then imposing them onto a background of relevant sector and product imagery.

All films were formatted for use in a media player to be used directly on our campaign website and can now be accessed and watched at your leisure at www.toughbook.me

The results
As one of our first forrays into the world of green screen movie making, this project has proved a huge success. In fact, the project has been such a success that Panasonic's European Marketing Manager, Stephen Yeo, has now appeared in a short online testimonial for Proctors!
