South West RDA

iNets South West

South West RDA were setting up 5 business support ‘networks’, connecting industry, the public sector and academia. These networks are collectively known as ‘iNets South West’.

Their aim is to increase levels of innovation, and therefore increase the future profitability, stability and competitive position of the South West business offer by focusing on five of the region’s key industry sectors, defined as:

i) Microelectronics

ii) Biomedical

iii) Creative Industries

iv) Aerospace & Advanced Engineering

v) Environmental.

Sector specific activity will include networking events, promotion of funding and collaboration opportunities, face to face, online or telephone activities that support peer to peer learning, good practice sharing, innovation workshops and other activities to encourage the strength of the network. The aim is to create more products, processes and services and bring them to the market in sooner, ultimately leading to increased productivity, competitiveness and turnover.

Our brief was to develop both a logo and design approach for iNets that can be adopted and implemented by each of the delivery organisations.

The Proctors response
We provided final artwork files and pdfs for:

• The Master iNets South West logo

• The 5 sub-versions of this logo

• Templates for stationary and business cards in artwork and pdf format

• A template for PowerPoint

• A website home page design for an ‘iNets in the South West’ portal

• A guideline containing instructions on the basic brand elements used, so the design approach can be extrapolated across other mediums by iNet deliverers.

RDA brand elements (e.g. colours, themes, typography) were used. Not only did this make life simpler and the deliverables easier to deliver, but it also signalled the RDA’s role behind economic development in the South West.

The results
These brands are currently being rolled out across the South West with our support in creating tactical display tools, but also as independently self managed branding devices.
