Cycle Block
A series of pan-European conferences. A complicated topic. And delegates from public, private and education sectors set to attend. A perfect opportunity to create an accessible, informative short film to explain the EuroGeoNames initiative.
The Proctors response
The EuroGeoNames project is a complex – and important – initiative to catalogue and standardise place names right across Europe.
Creating a pan-European names infrastructure is vital because many towns, cities, villages and topographical features have a number of names in a number of languages, which leads to problems and confusion for both organisations and the general public.
Our short film explained the project, its objectives and the benefits to organisations and individuals.
The results
A film that explains a complicated topic in under ten minutes. It has been well received at a number of conferences, and has found a permanent home in the EuroGeoNames section of the EuroGeographics website.
