Oh Little Town of ... Bristol
For our 2011 Christmas message, all of us here at Proctors thought it would be nice to spread peace and good will to all men, right here from Bristol. And what better way to do just that, than to take a tiny peek at the city itself during the yuletide festivities, (‘tiny’ being the operative word.)
Supporting the Smugglers of Light Foundation.
The music in this year’s Christmas card was the work of Australian composer Nigel Westlake, the royalty for its use went toward his charity ‘Smugglers of Light Foundation’. Formed in 2008, in memory of Eli Westlake, the Foundation promotes cultural awareness, empowerment through education and storytelling, through music and film to youth at risk and indigenous communities. Our little creative elves set to work on creating a miniature christmas toy town, by applying the popular ’tilt-shift’ lens effect to various bustling Christmas scenes in and around our city.
Tilt-shift uses selective focus on the subject to simulate a miniature scene. We even went a step further, and decorated the city with various life-size toys, matching the lighting and colours to place them realistically within each scene.
